Large brush fire in Barrow County

The 600 block of Gainesville Hwy between Sims Rd. & Cedar Valley Trail, is currently closed to all traffic due to a large fire.

Crews on scene have the fire contained, and no injuries have been reported.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. Our firefighters and law enforcement are working to clear the scene as quickly and safely as possible.

Gainesville Hwy is back open at this time.

Please use caution when driving through, as fire crews are still operating on scene as they work on cleaning up the scene.
