Mail stolen during break-in at Bogart post office

Thieves last month stole an unknown amount of mail during a burglary at the Bogart post office on Atlanta Highway in Oconee County.
The break-in was discovered by an employee on November 19th at about 6 a.m. when she arrived for work and found that the front door had been forced open.
She immediately went back outside and called the sheriff’s office,
When deputies arrived they searched the building and saw that everything appeared intact, that regiisters and safes had not been tampered with.
However, the employee realized that most of the mail had been stolen from the individual post office boxes., and the thieves apparently carried it away in trash bags.
There was no video surveillance footage because, the employee explained that “they have been requesting security cameras, but have been denied,” the sheriff’s report indicates,
