Jonathon Lord, 27, of Daniells Bridge Road was arrested in connection with a family violence incident downtown in which a woman was kidnapped and assaulted.

According to police reports, a woman was walking with a group in the area of Washington and Jackson streets late the night of May 1st when Lord jumped out of an SUV and forced the woman into the vehicle.

Lord then pushed to the ground a man who was in the group before returning to the SUV and driving away.

Reports indicate that Lord punched the victim in the face several times.

Police located the vehicle and arrested Lord during a traffic stop.

He was charged with kidnapping, battery, family violence battery, interference with property, and third-degree cruelty to children.

The relationship between Lord and the victim was not specified in the incident report or arrest warrants, but their listed addresses were the same.

The interference charge was for Lord taking away the victim’s phone, and the cruelty charge was brought because the victim’s 4-year-old daughter was present during the incident.

Police indicated that Lord has an extensive history of family violence.

He remains in pretrial detention after a Magistrate Court judge denied him bail.
