A Hull man has been charged with the murder of his step-brother.
Corey Mackenzie Pattman, 41, of 424 Garnett Ward Road called Madison County 911 Monday afternoon to report a death, and when a family member led them to the neighboring home of Pattman’s step-brother at 464 Garnett Ward Road, they found 41-year-old Jermaine Brown deceased, according to Madison County sheriff’s Capt. Jimmy Patton.
"Pattman was charged based on statements made, along with physical evidence at the scene," Patton said.
“The manner of death appears to be blunt force trauma and strangulation,” according to Patton, who said the definitive cause of Brown’s death was pending the results of an autopsy.
"At this time, we do not have a definitive motive,” he said.
Pattman is being held without bail at the Madison County Jail in Danielsville.
