An arrest has been made in connection with property damage to a church and two businesses in eastern Athens-Clarke County.

Stacey Michael Dixon, 36, was arrested Friday morning on three counts of second-degree criminal damage to property.

According police, Dixon caused over $16,000 in damages to three buildings located near each other on Lexington Road Thursday night by smashing glass windows and doors with large rocks and a tree limb.

The buildings are owned by Cornerstone Church, MainStreet Family Care, and Peach State Academy according to police,

In addition to the smashed glass, a sign was damaged and a lockbox was pried open.

Dixon was identified as the offender from video surveillance footage of him causing the

damage, police said.

Police incident reports indicate that Dixon is homeless, but the website for the county jail lists his home address as being on Mitchell Farm Road in Colbert.

As of Wednesday night, Dixon had yet to post the bail that a Magistrate Court judge had granted.
