Woman dies after brutal beating by her son

A 75-year-old woman has died from injuries she suffered when beaten by her son last week in Barrow County.

Lillie Armour had been hospitalized since Saturday after deputies discovered her severely injured in her home on Tanners Bridge Road in Bethlehem.

Her son, 51-year-old Dexter Jermaine Armour was taken into custody at the scene on a charge of aggravated assault.

He now faces additional charges after his mother succumbed to her injuries yesterday, according to Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith.

“We are investigating this case as a murder but no charges have been taken yet we are waiting on details from the coroner,” the sheriff said this morning.
