Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a pool of blood this week inside his apartment off West Broad Street.
The body of 52-year-old David Anthony Farquhar was discovered by a maintenance worker upon entering the of the man’s residence at Broadacres Homes apartments at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.
The first police officer to arrive at the scene reported that Farquhar was “face down on the floor in a big puddle of blood coming from his head, neck area.”
The officer located the man’s wallet to confirm his identity.
Detectives and forensic technicians responded to begin the investigation, and Farquhar’s body was transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s medical examiner office for an autopsy.
Despite the large amount of blood around his body, the police do not believe that foul play was involved.
“A preliminary investigation determined that there is nothing suspicious about Mr. Farquahr's death,” said police spokesperson, Lt. Katie Jenkins.
