Markieth Dontate Laguines, 33, of Coleridge Court was arrested last week after he reportedly punched a woman in her mouth, knocking out several teeth.
The incident happened the afternoon of June 2nd at the Athens Gardens apartment complex during an altercation with the victim, a 30-year-old woman from Rolling Ridge Apartments with whom Laguines once lived.
The victim told police that when Laguines threw some juice on her she retaliated by throwing a crockpot lid at him, and that’s when he punched her in the mouth.
The woman’s sister found two of the teeth that were knocked out and was searching for a third when police arrived at the scene.
Laguines was charged with aggravated battery and also with a felony probation violation related to his conviction on armed robbery and aggravated assault charges in 2016.
At the time of those earlier crimes, he was a purported member of the North Avenue Boys street gang.
He is being held without bail in pretrial detention.
