The body of an Athens man was pulled out of the North Oconee River Monday afternoon, 12 days after the 27-year-old victim’s girlfriend reported him as missing.
According to Athens-Clarke County Coroner Sonny Wilson, members of a search party that included local firefighters and personnel from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, located the body of Seth Stephens Evans in water about 15-feet deep behind the ruins of Charlie Williams’ Pinecrest Lodge on the banks of the North Oconee River.
Wilson said he was confident the body was that of the missing man due to personal contents of a back pack that was found with the body.
A more thorough examination was to be conducted at the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur. The coroner said.

I thought the boys and our crime lab said that when they found the body it wasn’t this young man because it had been in the water longer than he had gone missing
