No one injured by morning house fire in Winterville

No residents or firefighters were injured as the result of a Friday morning house fire in Winterville.

The fire at 1595 Cherokee Road off Martin Hill Lane was reposted to the Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services Department shortly after 9 a.m.

Arriving firefighters were greeted by flames coming out of the home’s windows.

A crew from Engine 27 quickly knocked down the fire and a team from Rescue 4 conducted a search that found no victims.
