One person killed, several others injured in Elberton nightclub shooting

Deputies confirmed a teen is dead and seven people have been injured following a shooting at a nightclub in Elberton.

nightclub on Evergreen Drive just before midnight Saturday, according to Elbert Co. Emergency Director and Coroner Chuck Amond. The incident is now being classified as a homicide.

The victims range in age from 15 to 19 years old, as well as a 41-year-old adult. Five victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were checked and released. Two others were transported to Athens, and one victim was airlifted to a helipad on advanced life support. That victim, who was just 15, died from their injuries.
