Open letter to President Trump

Dear Mr President. 

I voted for you -twice. 

In general I think you and your entire cabinet team are doing a positively fantastic job cleaning up the Biden mess and rooting out the outrageous excesses of the far left. 

But assassination of suspected drug traffickers at sea is going too far.

Law abiding American Citizens loath drug traffickers too. 

But here’s the thing Mr President.

If we allow drug traffickers to be summarily executed without a trial then somewhere down the road trial-less executions will expand to additional crimes. 

It’s called “bureau creep” (when the original intent incrementally morphs into something completely different over time). 

And big government is absolutely famous for it!

If this stands then one day, on the spot executions could become the answer to almost anything, including voicing dissatisfaction with government!! 

Terribly bad idea Mr President. 

And locking up day workers, waiting with their tool boxes in the Lowes parking lot, for a chance at an honest days pay to scrape together a couple of hundred bucks to feed their families isn’t what we had in mind either. 

Yes. Absolutely keep going after the big traffickers and immediately deport all VIOLENT criminals for sure, get every last one of them out of here.

For this we applaud and support you. 

But always, ALWAYS use the constitution as your guide. 

The moment you deviate from it, for ANY reason, is the moment you cross the line and go too far.

The Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of the land, Mr President.

Not the congress, not the Supreme Court, and certainly not the executive branch -the constitution.
