Puppet Pants coming to Athens

Athens, GA - Touring one-man puppet company, Puppet Pants of Atlanta, GA will perform an evening of handmade marionette entertainment at Dead Beat Club on June 24 at 8:00 pm.

The club is located at 585 Barber Street.

In a true “old world” style form of entertainment, the puppeteer in full view brings string puppets to life without the use of electronics, artificial intelligence or 3D printing, reigniting a cultural artistic renaissance of art and craft to revitalize one of the world’s oldest and most beloved art forms.

“After a show I invite people to take a closer look at the puppets and ask questions,” said Adam Clarke, of Puppet Pants. “I am always encouraging people, ‘if I made these puppets then you can, too!’”

The theatrical production has toured across the United States. While it is intended for mature audiences it is not explicit or crass, and can be enjoyed by all ages.

“I think making things with our hands and sharing them with people is an essential part of the human experience,” said Clarke.  “The feeling of connection between an audience and a puppet cannot be replicated anywhere outside of a puppet show.”

The performance and talkback session of this timeless but rare form of entertainment will be held at Dead Beat Club on June 24 at 8:00 pm..
