Science fact of the day: Banded mongooses work together

Writer's picture: Classic City NewsClassic City News

Unlike many other species of mongoose, Banded Mongooses are very social.

When faced with a predator, they all squish in very close to one another and move as a group, creating the appearance of one very large animal.

Some individuals at the front of the group will even stand on their hind legs and make snapping lunges to deter the potential predator.
