UGA student reports sexual assault by Uber driver

County police are investigating a University of Georgia student’s allegation that she was sexually assaulted by an Uber driver early in the morning of August 23rd.

The 21-year-old student said the incident happened after the suspect picked her up in downtown Athens.

The driver was a 53-year-old man from Madison County who denied anything inappropriate happened with his passenger.

The student claimed that he took advantage of her being extremely intoxicated.
