Student from Watkinsville chosen national youth program delegate

Viveka Mehrotra, a senior at North Oconee County High School, has been chosen as one of the two Georgia delegates for the 62nd annual United States Senate Youth Program Washington Week.

The event, which is sponsored by the United States Senators and The Hearst Foundations, will take place from March 2 through March 9.

Mehrotra serves as co-president of the student-initiated and student-led Young Democrats chapter. She is a member of the Superintendent’s Advisory Board and is vice president of the National Honor Society.
