Trio of Athens cousins arrested amid drug probe

Three men who police say are cousins were recently arrested as part of drug trafficking investigation by the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force.
The arrests were made on August 22nd in conjunction with the execution of search warrants for a home and vehicle at 1287 Shoals Apartments, where two of the suspects lived.
“A trafficking amount of fentanyl was located, as well as methamphetamine, oxycodone pills, marijuana, and a plethora of drug distribution evidence,” an Athens-Clarke County Police Department report states.
Amon Jaral Franklin, 31, and Eric Maurice Franklin, 43, were each arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a drug trafficking crime, trafficking fentanyl, and possession with intent to distribute both methamphetamine and oxycodone,
The third cousin, 23-year-old Myron Jamon Franklin, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
