For the second year, the students in Associate Professor Rhuanito Ferrarezi’s “Greenhouse Management” class will hold an ornamental plant sale on Nov. 20 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the South Milledge Greenhouse Complex at 2510 South Milledge Avenue in Athens.
Cultivated by students in the class, plants will include multiple cultivars of annual and perennial ornamentals including highly popular poinsettias, as well as daisies, dianthus, snapdragons, heuchera, monsteras, hostas, hellebores, echinacea, coreopsis and gaura.
Sale proceeds will be used for a luncheon with the ornamental industry members to network and identify career perspectives and opportunities for students.
Ornamental plants make popular gifts for holiday gatherings and UGA Cooperative Extension’s “Care of Holiday and Gift Plants” publication provides resources to help you keep your newly acquired plants healthy and thriving.
