We didn’t get a response…

The following was released by the Lexy Doherty for Congress campaign:

ATHENS, GA — “We reached out to Representative Collins multiple times but did not get a response…”

This is what everyone got from their representative this election season. Whether it was public forums, debates or newspaper interviews, Congressman Collins did not feel it necessary to report back to his voters on what he did during his first two years in Washington. Voters in Northeast Georgia face inflation and a tough economy; they face a health care system that both denies care and is unaffordable; they need higher wages; they need affordable housing; they have real questions about how we move forward against all our challenges—but Collins can’t be bothered with that.

Where is Collins, then?

He’s in Virginia working for a buddy’s campaign. He’s in Ohio with another. He’s back in Virginia—working for a different candidate this time—before going off to Michigan with yet another. Now he’s off to Indiana to spend time on another friend’s race. Look at him go, he’s in Indiana now. He’s in Michigan. He’s in Ohio. He’s back to Pennsylvania, back to Virginia…

And you can bet he’ll be wherever there’s a camera and a microphone at a MAGA rally in Atlanta or somewhere else in Georgia. Just not here. Just not with his own constituents. It’s clear that he’s trying to boost his profile and become a MAGA star, and spending time answering to constituents must feel like a waste of time when you’re dreaming of bigger things.

Congressman Collins is the millionaire heir of a millionaire congressman. One has to wonder whether a sense of entitlement takes over someone like that, a bit like an aristocrat might feel. But the seat isn’t his by some kind of birthright. No, part of the job is to return to your constituents to make your case again, answer their questions and address their concerns. That’s how our American democracy works, and our democracy is not done yet.

Please tell me why any human doesn’t deserve basic necessities? Why someone working their ass off deserves to live in poverty because your ilk actually thinks jobs solve it? You’re just as delusional as every other trumper.
