Woman arrested after locking self in bathroom of Athens nail salon

Gloria Eileen Newman was arrested for theft on the afternoon of August 22nd at Frenchie’s Nail Salon on Prince Avenue.

An employee called police to report that the 29-year-old homeless woman from Dacula had locked herself in the bathroom after refusing to pay for $120 worth of services and taking a set of keys from the break room.

She finally opened the door after a police officer knocked several times and told him that she was trying to get the money from her boyfriend but he was refusing to send it.

Newman was arrested for theft of services and theft by talking, and was released from jail four days later upon posting $10 cash bail,
