Woman indicted for stabbing partner with scissors

A Clarke County grand jury has indicted a 35-year-old Athens woman who was arrested after using scissors to stab her partner three months ago.

Amanda Dawn Brown was arrested in May by police who said she stabbed Jimmy Epps at their home on North Chase Street.

She was charged with one count of aggravated assault, according to the indictment filed in Superior Court last Tuesday.

Following her arrest, Brown was released on $1,000 bail made conditional on her participation in a substance abuse treatment program.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on August 19th.
