An Athens man was arrested and a cache of weapons seized Friday when members of the Athens-Clarke County Police Department Gang Unit executed a search warrant on his home at Rolling Ridge Apartments.
During the search, six firearms were seized from the home of 38-year-old Demetrius Antwon Lumpkin, including four handguns, a pistol grip AR rifle, and a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun, along with high-capacity magazines.

The search warrant was related to a May 12 incident involving Lumpkin firing a weapon in the complex.
For that incident, he was charged with reckless conduct, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and tampering with evidence.
Additionally, and related to the search warrant Lumpkin was charged with another six counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two more counts of reckless conduct.
He is being held in pretrial detention without bail being set.
