Woman charged with cruelty after harming cat with brick

By Joe Johnson

A homeless woman was recently arrested after she harmed a cat by repeatedly throwing a brick at it.

The incident happened on the morning of August 14th at a house on Easy Street where 32-year-old Amber Nannette Reynolds was recorded by a doorbell camera as she threw a concrete brick at a cat that was cornered on the front porch.

“You are able to hear the cat in cry out and then the female picks the brick up again and strikes the cat again,” reports a police officer who viewed the video.

“The cat then screams and it is unclear where the cat goes from there,” the officer wrote in her report.

A local homeless outreach employee identified Reynolds as the suspect when the officer showed her the video,

Reynolds was arrested two days later on a warrant charging her with aggravated cruelty to animals,

She remains in pretrial detention in lieu of a $1,000 bond,
