Athens-Clarke commission candidate to host online conversation

Knowa Johnson, a District 10 candidate for the Athens-Clarke County Commission, will be hosting a “Speak Easy Wednesday" Facebook Live event at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, May 20.

The short, online event is meant to give voters a chance to learn more about Johnson’s leadership experience and perspectives. Athens residents are encouraged to submit questions for Johnson via his campaign Facebook page. Johnson will be joined online by his wife, Mokah Jasmine Johnson, who is a candidate for Georgia House of Representatives District 117.  Wednesday’s event will be the second of three informal conversations the campaign is hosting before the June 9 election. Previously Johnson answered questions about his service in the U.S. Navy, his business experience, and the community’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. “It’s challenging to run a campaign without going out and meeting people face to face,” Johnson said. “But I’m glad so many people are still interested and engaged in this election online.” Video of the first Speak Easy Wednesday is available for viewing on Facebook at Knowa Johnson for Athens Dist. 10. The final Speak Easy Wednesday will be June 3. To learn more about Johnson and his ideas for Athens, visit KnowaJohnsonForAthens.com.
