Athens girl arrested for trying to stab mother

By Joe Johnson

An Athens teen reportedly was arrested this week for allegedly trying to stab her mother during a domestic dispute.

According to an Athens-Clarke County police report, the 15-year-old girl got into an argument with her mother Monday night because she tried to take her parent’s vehicle without permission.

When the mother stopped her, the girl tried to take $100 from the woman’s purse, according to the report.

That led to a physical altercation in which the teen got a large knife from the kitchen and then lunged at her mother, holding up the knife with the blade pointing down, the report noted.

The teen’s grandmother intervened by pulling her from her mother and taking away the knife, according to the police report.

The girl then left the Cabin Creek Road and walked away, according to the report, and later that evening an officer received information that she was at Walmart, and when she was located at the store police arrested her for aggravated assault.

The Department of Juvenile Justice ordered the girl to be detained.

This is why selling poison to your people is a cardinal sin. It is not a victimless crime. The family knows why they did not let this person take the car, why she tried to take cash from her mother and then attacked her mother with a knife. More than likely she is under the influence of drugs sold to her from someone in her community.
