Athens teen arrested for gun murder at Rolling Ridge Apartments

An Athens teen was arrested Monday and charged with murder for a fatal shooting that night at the Rolling Ridge Apartments complex off Kathwood Drive.

Details were not immediately available, but based on the charges it appears as though robbery was the motive.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, officers responded to Rolling Ridge

at about 10:25 pm. to investigate a reported shooting, and upon arrival they found 20-year-old Cameron Manago of Athens suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Zyquavious Thomas, 16, was subsequently identified as the shooter and was arrested.

He was charged as an adult with felony murder, attempted armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
