An Athens woman was killed Sunday morning when her car struck another vehicle head-on while driving the wrong way on the Athens Perimeter.
Partishia Lattimore, 47, of Chalfont Drive became the 16th traffic fatality this year in Athens-Clarke County and the second motorist to have died in a wrong-way collision on the divided highway since February.
According to Athens-Clarke County police Lt. Shaun Barnett, Lattimore was driving on the wrong side of the perimeter's outer loop at about 6 a.m. when at the Olympic Drive exit her Honda Civic crashed head-on with a Chevrolet Suburban being driven by a 45-year-old Royston man.
Lattimore was killed on impact and the other motorist was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
“He is expected to survive,” Barnett said.
