The Athens-Ckarke County Police Department has charged a woman in connection with a deadly shooting early Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Nowhere.
Officers arriving at the scene found 31-year-old Jeremy Howard suffering from a single gunshot wound. They provided life-saving measures prior to him being transported to the hospital, where he died.
After an investigation, detectives arrested 26-year-old Heather Nicole McCall of Jolly Lane and charged her with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.
She and Howard had previously been in a “domestic violence relationship,” according to Lt. Jody Thompson, ACCPD’s public information officer, who did not immediately know the circumstances which led to the deadly shooting.
The investigation was ongoing and police asked for anyone with pertinent information to call detectives at (762) 400-7060.
