One person is in custody and several pounds of methamphetamine are off the streets after the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and SWAT team this week executed a search warrant at 989 Fred Kilcrease Road in Auburn.
Accorfing to the sheriff’s office, 52-year-old Joseph William Vanderford of the Auburn address was arrested and charged with multiple counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and sale of methamphetamine. More charges are forthcoming.
The BCSO indicated that the search warrant was the result of a months-long investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in and around Barrow County.
In addition to the discovery of approximately seven pounds of methamphetamine, deputies reportedly seized ecstasy pills and firearms.
According to the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration and other sources. Seven pounds of meth has a street value of $17,500 to $35,000, depending on its quality.
The investigation into this case is continuing, and anyone who hasrelevant information is asked to contact the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit at (770) 307- 3080, ext. 3083.
These life destroyers need the maximum sentence for their troubles.
