Nicholas Boothe, 45, was arrested earlier this month for attacking two people with a baseball bat at the Beacon Point trailer park on Danielsville Road.

One of the victims was his housemate, 39-year-old Jody McElroy and the other was McElroy’s girlfriend, Andrea Jenkins, 31, of Winterville.

According to police reports, the incident happened on the evening of June 6th when Boothe was involved in a dispute with the victims concerning money that the landlord at Beacon Point had paid them for work they did.

Boothe was also upset with the victims because he said it was “their fault that his son was gone.”

He reportedly barged into McElroy’s room while he and Jenkins were sleeping and struck them both with a baseball bat.

McElroy told police that he was struck several times on his hand and foot.

Jenkins was injured more severely, telling police that her shoulder had been “shattered” by the bat. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

“She stated that Boothe was saying he was going to kill them as he was hitting them and saying that he wanted to die,” according to police.

The report describes the injury to her shoulder as “red and about 1.5 feet in length.”

Jenkins said that she called Boothe’s ex-wife to tell her what had happened, and it was she who called 911.

Booth was leaving the trailer park in sn SUV just as police were arriving and officers gave chase as he sped toward Madison County.

A police supervisor called off the high-speed pursuit after it crossed over the county line.

Boothe was arrested later that night after a Madison County sheriff's deputy disabled his SUV by executing a PIT maneuver that caused the vehicle to spin out of control.

Boothe on Thursday remained in custody of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

In Athens he faces charges of aggravated assault,

felony fleeing and attempting to elude, among other offenses.
