Just days after a young Jefferson family was decimated by a tragic traffic accident in Barrow County, community members are rallying to support the survivors.

On Friday afternoon an SUV being driven west on Ga. 316 by 30-year-old Lanie Nicole Callicutt reportedly failed to yield to an eastbound pickup truck when turning left onto Jackson Trail Road near Winder, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Lanie and her 1-year-old son, Henry Howell Callicutt were killed, and two other young sons, Kent and Jack, remained hospitalized on Monday.

Also on Monday, Josh Callicutt established a GoFundMe account for his widowed brother who lost a son and is facing enormous medical bills for his surviving children.

As of Monday night, donors had contributed nearly $50,000.

Additionally, a family friend and owner of Jersey Mike’s Subs at 920 Loganville Highway in Bethlehem, said that on Wednesday, Nov. 23, he will give half of the restaurant’s total daily proceeds to the Callicutt family.

Arrangements by Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson had yet to be finalized.
