Cosmic Gas bust in downtown Athens

Alexander Paul Johnson, 19, of Alpharetta, was arrested early in the morning of September 4th by a police officer who saw him allegedly inhaling Cosmic Gas, a brand of flavored nitrous oxide on East Clayton Street.

Although the gas is legally sold for culinary purposes like whipped cream, it’s a misdemeanor crime to inhale it for recreational use,

Johnson was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and later released on a $26 cash bond.
