Customer robbed at eastside gas station

A 49-year-old Athens woman reportedl ito police that she was robbed on the evening of September 17th at the Citgo station on Gaines: School Road.

It happened as the woman was pumping gas shortly before 9 p.m, when the criminal ran up and grabbed a wallet from her hand.

A witness chased after the robber but lost sight of him as he ran behind the Goodwill store in the Willowood Square shopping center,

When searching the area police officers found the wallet, missing the &210 that the victim said had been in it,

Police said they were unable to find any surveillance footage of the robbery, and that the Forensics Unit was able to lift a fingerprint from the wallet,
