Dumpster diver arrested on drug charges

A man was arrested following a complaint that he was dumpster diving.

Someone reported at 7:36 p.m. on March 20 that a person was dumpster diving in the parking at Urban Lofts apartments on Ruth Drive.

Police responded and identified the person as 40-year-old Marice Tyrone Lee, who is homeless.

He was taken into custody for a probation violation, and a subsequent search of his person and backpack found methamphetamine and used hypodermic needles.

Lee was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.

As of Monday he continued to be held in pretrial detention in lieu of low bail.
