Employee reportedly shot in Athens dentist office

A woman was shot early Monday at McRae Family Dental on Baxter Street.

Police have yet to release details about the incident but sources say the victim is a female employee.

She was transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds following the shooting that occurred at about 6:40 a.m.

The shooter reportedly has been identified by police and remains at large.

Investigators were seen apparently searching a home on Winterville Road and asked neighbors to call if they see the resident or his vehicle.
