An 18-year-old Albany resident was arrested Tuesday in connection with a sexual assault in Athens that was reported in May.
Other than the victim being a 21-year-old female, no details of the alleged assault were released by Athens-Clarke County police, who investigated the case.
The suspect, Nicholas Taiye Gosier, was arrested on warrants charging him with two counts of rape and one count each of first-degree burglary and kidnapping.
e was taken into custody in Athens-Clarke County Magistrate Court, where he was being arraigned on traffic charges, according to Capt. Bobby Toole, commander of the Clarke County Sheriff's Office's Field Section.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Gosier was being held at the county jail without bail being set.
