An Athens teen was recently indicted for a gang-related armed robbery that occurred two months ago in a westside neighborhood.
Isaac Taqal Howard, 17 of Westchester Drive was charged with two counts each of armed robbery and aggravated assault and one count of violating the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, according to the indictment that was filed Jan. 21 in Clarke County Superior Court.
The indictment accuses Howard of being associated with the Bloods street gang.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 19 Howard led two victims into a room where he gave a signal to another person who entered the room and pointed a handgun at the victims.
Wallets, cash and cellphones were stolen in the robbery, the indictment states.
According to Athens-Clarke County police, the incident occurred at the same home on Whitehead Terrace where another Bloods gang-related armed robbery occurred two weeks earlier. Five arrests were made in connection with that incident, according to police.
