An Athens teen was who was arrested Wednesday for allegedly shooting a man at the Nellie B Homes housing complex three days earlier has been charged with a second count of aggravated assault, according to an Athens-Clarke County police official.

Jermores Ridgeway, 17, of Rose Street was arrested in connection with the shooting of 27-year-old Washington Drive resident Keyron Lenor Pass, who was found shortly after midnight Sunday lying on the corner of Zatella Lane and East Carver Drive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and legs, according to police.

For the shooting, Ridgeway was charged with aggravated assault, but he was charged with an additional count of the offense for threatening others with the gun, according to Capt. Christopher Nichols, commanding officer of the Criminal Investigations Division.

“The multiple aggravated assaults are the result of the shooting and then prior to the shooting, Mr. Ridgeway brandished a gun at some other people,” Nichols said on Thursday.

A motive for the shooting had not been established, according to Nichols.

“Unfortunately, not yet,” he said. “Ridgeway did not provide that information and we haven’t gotten a reasoning from Mr. Pass.”
