An attempt by Barrow County deputies Friday afternoon to serve a warrant at a county residence turned into a suspect leading deputies on a pursuit through several counties.

The chase ended on State Highway 316 near Julian Drive in Oconee County, where a Barrow deputy forced the suspect's car off the road and crash by using the pursuit intervention technique, or PIT maneuver, according to Barrow County sheriff's Maj. Ryan Sears.

The suspect was taken into custosy, according to Sears, who was unable to immediately provide additional information.

Numerous units from Barrow and Oconee counties and the Georgia State Patrol were responded to the incident.
