Honey Baked Ham of Athens owner Matt Bengochea this month reached out to Sheriff Ira Edwards requesting questing assistance to deliver baked hams and smoked turkeys to families in dire need in the Athens area due to the coronavirus crisis.

The sheriff and deputies picked up the food packages from Honey Baked Ham and hand-delivered them to families in the Athens-Clarke County Clarke County community.

The CCSO personnel practiced recommended safety precautions as they delivered the boxes to each residence.

The Clarke County sheriff’s office sait it will continue to lend a helping hand not only during difficult times but anytime assistance is needed.

The CCSO encourages everyone to practice suggested safety protections, wear a mask and gloves during these trying times.
