Authorities this week continued to investigate the deaths of two people found shot to death in a Jackson County home on Valentine's Day in an apparent murder-suicide.
The bodies of Brandon Wallace Pinson, 32, and his girlfriend Laura Michelle Grant, 36, were discovered by Pinson’s mother at about 6:30 p.m. on Feb.14 in Pinson’s home on Winding Vine Lane in Nicholson, according to an incident report from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
The woman called 911 after arriving at the residence.
The report said the woman said she had taken her son’s daughter to stay with her the night before, after which time Pinson called to tell his mother that he and Grant had been in a domestic dispute.
Deputies arrived to find a cellphone on the front porch, along with a bottle of liquor and cans of beer littering the porch and front yard, according to the report.
Pinson was lying faceup near a bedroom entrance, with a handgun between his legs, according to the report, and Grant was lying faceup a few feet from Pinson.
Jackson County Sheriff Janice Mangum on Monday said the shooting deaths continued to be investigated.
A fundraiser has been established for Grant's daughter.
