Athens police find 'Trump' painted on destroyed car with Biden-Harris sticker

An Athens woman’s SUV reportedly was destroyed by one or more persons who signed their handiwork with the name “Trump” in red paint.

The 22-year-old owner of the 2011 Audi Q5 told Classic City News that the car sported a Biden-Harris bumper sticker.

“I think it was done because of the election,” she said. “It had to be political hate.”

According to an Athens-Clarke County police report, an officer responded at about 8 a.m. Wednesday to investigate a report of an abandoned vehicle on Woodview Drive in Bogart.

Upon arrival, the officer found the SUV on the side of the road and noted in the report that the vehicle had been “destroyed.”

It appeared that a baseball bat had been used to break the windshield, back window and sideview mirrors, as well as create dents as around the entire vehicle, which had a value of $10,000, according to the report.

“The vehicle had been spray-painted ‘Trump’ with red paint on the hood and passenger side,” the officer wrote in the report.

He also noticed that the entire car had been dented, as though by a baseball bat, and found a bottle of bleach next to the car, with the gas cap opened, and it appeared that all four tires were flat, according to the police report.

When contacted by phone, the owner told police that she left the car at that location the previous evening because of a flat tire and that there was no damage to the car at that time, according to the report.
