University School of Law student Zachary Perry’s campaign has released a trailer launch video to introduce Perry and his quest to unseat seven-term incumbent and former Senate Majority Leader Bill Cowsert.
Perry is running as the Democratic nominee for the district that includes parts of Clarke, Oconee, and Walton counties.
“I’m really excited to show off this thing that we’ve spent so much time working on. I think that it will really introduce the public to me and the issues that I feel very passionate about,” Perry said, “The three counties in this district have changed so much since Senator Cowsert was elected and our leadership should reflect that change.”
Perry said that although he has already appeared as a candidate in several online forums, this video symbolizes the beginning of planned activities in the district coordinated by the campaign.
Perry’s campaign is focused on expanding voting rights protections for all Georgians, advancing criminal justice reform measures, creating more affordable housing, and empowering local communities to make decisions about their own unique challenges.
“This election is going to be one of the most important elections for our nation, for the state of Georgia, and for the counties in this district. There are several competitive races for local offices, state legislative seats, and for statewide office,” Perry said, “I’m excited to be a part of this moment and proud to be an advocate for a different vision of this state’s potential.”
