A Madison County man who was critically injured in a two-car collision this week in northeast Athens-Clarke County has died, making him the county's 19th traffic fatality in 2023.
According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, at about 2:40 p.m. Monday 28-year-old Christopher Fleming of Hull was driving a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria on Danielsville Road near Harve Mathis Road when the car veered into oncoming traffic and struck another car being driven by 48-year-old Stacy Manning of Rogersville, TN.
Both drivers were transported to the hospital, where Manning was treated for minor injuries, and Fleming on Wednesday succumbed to critical injuries.
