Man arrested after creating chaos in Social Security office

Norcross, Ga., Jan. 16, 2026) – On January 14, 2026, Gwinnett County Police responded to a disturbance at the Social Security office located at 4365 Shackleford Road in Norcross.
Officers spoke with multiple witnesses who provided a video of the incident. Employees identified the individual in the video as 65-year-old Robert Burke. In the video, Burke can be seen making threats and verbally insulting several individuals. The video also shows multiple children present during the incident. Employees reported that Burke had previously caused disturbances at the location.
Burke was not present when officers arrived, so an arrest warrant for Disorderly Conduct was issued for Burke.
On January 15, 2026, Burke was taken into custody after officers responded to another disturbance involving him at the Courtyard Marriott hotel, located at 3550 Venture Parkway in Duluth.
