Released today by the Gwinnett County Police Department Norcross, Ga., Jan. 16, 2026) – On January 14, 2026, Gwinnett County Police responded to a disturbance at the Social Security office located at 4365 Shackleford Road in Norcross. Officers spoke with multiple witnesses who provided a video of the incident. Employees identified the individual in the video as 65-year-old Robert Burke. In the video, Burke can be seen making threats and verbally insulting several individuals.

The incident happened in the evening of December 12th at Wire Park in Watkinsville, where adults reportedly involved themselves in what had been children picking on a mentally disabled boy. As the officer told him to pick it up, Central Dispatch confirmed that Bess was wanted for a felony probation violation from his 2013 armed robbery conviction.
