Man shoots wife in Athens dentist office, attempts suicide

A woman was shot by her husband Monday morning and he later attempted suicide by shooting himself.

Sheila Mobley was at McRae Family Dental on Baxter Street when she was shot multiple times by 74-year-old Carl Clark, who fled the scene in a vehicle.

Mobley, 47, was transported to the hospital but her condition has not been reported by authorities.

When law enforcement in Butts County conducted a a traffic stop on Ckark’s vehicle the elderly suspect shot himself, according to the Georgia Bureau log Investigation, which reported Clark as having hospitalized in stable condition.
