Mother saves her child from Athens pool drowning

An Athens woman recently saved her 4-year-old son from drowning in a neighbor’s pool.

In the early evening of July 22nd Giselle Garcia-Sanchez was inside her home on Ambler Road while her son was in the back yard with his uncle.

The uncle was doing some work when he realized Joshua had disappeared,

He alerted the child’s mother and when running around looking they found Joshua unconscious in the neighbor’s pool.

Giselle pulled her son from the water and immediately began CPR, at which time Joshua quickly coughed up water and became alert.

An ambulance crews arrived at the scene and rendered aid to the child before transporting him and his mother to the hospital.
