Science fact of the day: Sugar gliders fly using a special membrane

Sugar gliders have a soft membrane that runs from their ankles to their wrists called a patagium.

This is what allows them to glide on the air.

Interestingly, sugar gliders can “fly” for a maximum distance that is nearly the width of a football field!
