Special Education Transition Fair 2025

Athens, Georgia — The Clarke County School District’s Department of Special Education will hold a

Transition Fair this week, connecting students and their families with numerous resources to help them

plan for postsecondary success.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 25, at the district administrative offices building,

595 Prince Ave., Athens. Students and families from Clarke and Madison counties will be in attendance,

and more than 30 local and resource providers will be on hand to share information about community

access programs, job support, financial support, trusts planning, guardianship, social opportunities, and more.

There will also be parent/guardian workshops providing families with more information about and

instructions on how to apply for the New Option Waiver Program and Comprehensive Support Waiver

Program, Medicaid-backed waiver programs that provide money to be used to pay for services for

eligible Georgians with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who require an intermediate care
